Random swatching from recent haul

Well I still have heaps of colours to show you guys from my latest haul where I picked up a bunch of polishes from the Ebay store Nail Polish Elegance!!!!! And an update to my news that I blogged about in one of my previous blogs - the seller has re-sent me Zoya colours Ibiza and Moxie after I emailed her about them being destroyed in transit- woohoo! What great customer service!  :)

So anyway, here is Zoya Jo combined with my very first flakie- Nubar 2010:

I also got Nubar 2010 from Ebay - i'm really loving Ebay at the moment!

Sorry some of the pictures are blurry, I was trying to get the flakies to sparkle. I love the extra effect that Nubar 2010 gives to Jo - a nice extra dimension. Jo is a great colour that is completely opaque in 2 coats, maybe one if you're super good at application! Do you guys like this combo? I am really loving blues and greys at the moment for nails, not traditional like reds and pinks which I am used to, but absolutely love how these colours look on nails!

And here is another swatch people- China Glaze Ahoy.

I know I keep saying 'this is one of my favourite colours' for each post I do, but there are just so many great colours out there!!! So yes I am going to say it again- THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE COLOURS!!!!!!

The formula is a lot like china Glaze 108 degrees, and I do sometimes confuse them when they're in their bottles. The difference between them though is that Ahoy is a darker burgundy-red rather than a pink. But in some lights it does look like a dark pink rather than a red. I do love polishes that change with the light and you can't really define its specific colour.

Okay so here are some pictures of my nails:

Above: My pet Rainbow Lorri - eying off my colourful nails!!!

What colours would you like to see me swatch next?

I'd love any feedback you have to offer :)

Leopart mani take 2

I know I have already tried this and blogged about it before, but i wasn't too happy with the result of my first trial. It looked more like polka dots. So when I received a bunch of polishes from my last haul I thought "wow these polishes would go PERFECTLY together for a leopard mani".

Another one of my favourites that I have just recently acquired is Zoya's robyn. The BEST blue I have tried that is perfect in two coats would go awesomely on any skin tone I think.

And here is my leopard mani using Orly luxe and a black nail art pen :)

I think Zoya's Robyn and Orly Luxe go awesomely together!!! Both great colours!!!!!!

That's it for today!
Thanks guys

Claire :)

Polish Mayhem

Wow I'm so sorry for not being up to date with my blogging. In my last post I said that I aimed to do one at least once a week, but that was last sunday and already it is wednesday a week and a half later. So to make up for it I am going to do not one, but two blogs today :)

I'd first like to tell you about my recent haul from an Ebay seller named R93 and her Ebay store Nail Polish Elegance. Much better customer service and postage delivery times than MBeauty Lounge, a little more expensive but absolutely worth it! This seller stocks many many polishes and related products and many brands. I myself picked up Zoya, China Glaze, OPI and Color Club off this seller.

In total I bought 15 polishes!!!!!

Above: China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise, Sea Spray, Pelican Gray, Ahoy and White Cap.
Above: Zoya Harley, Jo, Robyn and Dana.
Above: Color Club Worth the Risque and Fashion Addict.
Above: Orly Luxe.

You may be thinking, but that's only 12 polishes, not 15. Well I also ordered OPI's Blue shatter which I forgot to photograph (oops) and unfortunately Zoya Ibiza and Moxie which I also ordered did not survive the freight over to Australia. They were completely shattered :( This is not the fault of the seller though, she wrapped the polishes so carefully. My package must have been extremely man-handled by the postal service. So unfortunately Zoya Ibiza and Moxie are still on my wishlist!

I was very excited when my order arrived, especially for Zoya Harley. I have been very excited about trying a grey nail polish, and I must say I was not disappointed!!! Zoya Harley is one of my favourites of this order, as well as Zoya Jo which is a beautiful lavender blue.

Here are some swatches of Harley:

Harley is  a lovely shimmery grey and perfect in 2 coats. These pictures here were shown without a clear top coat.

Hope you liked these pics- now off to wrie my second post :)

China Glaze 108 degrees

As the name suggests, this polish is HOT HOT HOT!

My favourite I think of the Island escape collection, 108 degrees in my opinion is a must have for any nail polish collection. As soon as I saw the first swatches of this colour I knew it had to be mine!

A gorgeous shimmery pink slight flecks of purple as it catches the light, the formula is beautiful and is another 1 coater (which I do love).

Sorry about my cuticles in this pic- my paint job is all over the place and I don't think I removed my last polish (Papaya Punch) very well either!
But just to give you an idea of the awesome beauty of this polish, here are some pictures:

I've read quite recently on other blogs that the dupe for this colour is OPI's Be A Dahlia Won't You, and I must say on looking at other people's comparisons they look EXACTLY the same- so whether you buy OPI or China Glaze there is no need to buy the other.

Yesterday I tried China Glaze's Papaya Punch which I loved and looked awesome, but smudged it whilst it was still wet, so i'll have to do it again and hope to put a swatch up for you soon :)

I know the China Glaze Island Escape collection has been done HEAPS on other blogs, but it's new to me as I've only recently got these colours so I hope you don't mind reading yet another blog on this collection!

I just received a package today of about 15 polishes from Ebay so that is another thing I will put up really soon- Uni is back now so I don't know how regularly i'll be able to post now, but my aim is at least once a week.

Thanks for following!

If you have any comments, ideas or suggestions for this blog i'd love to hear from you- and please tell your friends about this blog too

A little bit of glam for my nails

Today I'd like to share swatches of Zoya's Faye and OPI's Spark de Triomphe :)

I found out about these colours as part of the OPI red and white shatter release, as it was Spark de Triomphe and Rally Pretty Pink that they paired these two shatters with. Looking at the red and white shatters I was not totally sure whether I liked them- or at least enough to buy them, but fell in love with the polishes they were paired with. Upon googling a bit more I found that Rally Pretty Pink had a dupe- this being Zoya's Faye. I also read reviews on the two polishes to decide which one I should get, and heard many people saying that whilst being basically the same colour, Zoya's Faye was opaque in 2 coats, whilst OPI's Rally Pretty Pink was 3. This pretty much sealed the deal for me- Zoya's Faye it is!

So here are my pictures of these two magnificent colours :)

As you can see from the pictures, Zoya Faye is a beautiful rich plum colour, with gold highlights that shimmer with the light. Spark de Triomphe is my favourite though as it is just the most amazing glitter - beautiful colour and I couldn't believe that it was completely opaque with one brush stroke- no base colour at all. This polish is a beautiful sparkly golden colour with what I see as flashes of silver through it :) Both of these polishes are shown with 2 coats, no top coat!

I am so glad that I purchased these polishes- couldn't be happier with them! I can definitely say that these are 2 colours that I will be wearing a lot! And don't they just go fabulously together? Why wear just one colour at once?!

Thanks for reading,
Claire

P.S Just made an order at beautyjoint.com - will definitely post some swatches up when my order arrives :D

Shatter for Shatter Day

As I have been reading on OPI updates on Facebook, today is shatter day! (or at least I think it is, not really sure when it comes to the time difference :P)

So I have sported Zebra nails!!!!!

Ever since I bought black shatter I have been DYING to try it out over white- and I was certainly not disappointed!

42 days ago I ordered some polish from a site called MBeauty Lounge. They had really cheap polishes with reasonable postage and OMG shipped to Australia! So I ordered the China Glaze Island Escape collection, OPI Spark de Triomphe, Zoya Faye (because I heard it was a dupe for OPI Rally Pretty Pink) and OPI's Alpine Snow (especially to try under my black shatter).
After waiting about 3 and a half weeks I got slightly concerned, and decided to google reviews on this company- something I really should have done BEFORE I bought the polishes. As it turns out the reviews for this website were pretty terrible, with many people claiming they had not received orders and saying that customer service was very bad.

Well after a stressful couple of weeks I FINALLY got MOST of my package- better than nothing as I was just about ready to write it off. I got all my polishes except China Glaze Electric Pineapple and Cha Cha Cha, with a note on the attached invoice saying 'credit' next to these polishes. Now I'm not sure what's going on because I have contacted MBeauty Lounge twice now with no response, and have not yet been credited on my account. Alas, receiving seven polishes out of nine is a lot better than zero!

So my experience with MBeauty Lounge was not too bad, however, I would not be confident to shop there again, I must keep a look out for other sites with a better reputation.

So sorry for the long story, but I had to explain how I got my hands onto the OPI Alpine Snow, and I am super excited to try out the other polishes I received- there will be swatches up of those beauties soon :)

Above: Beautiful polishes that I received in the mail :)

Below: OPI Alpine Snow- quite a good formula for a white, this is 3 coats (so sorry about the pink cuticles)!

And finally- OPI Alpine Snow and Black Shatter- I absolutely LOVE this look, and couldn't have received this polish for a more perfect time- OPI Shatter Day!

So have any of you had experiences with MBeauty Lounge?
I'd love to hear some comments about good places to buy polish from :)

Pompeii Purple

So this is the last polish of the OPI bottles I bought a couple of weeks back. It's called Pompeii Purple and I am in LOVE! This is a beautiful pink shimmer, and when caught in the light has an amazing purple refection to it. I also love the formula of this polish, just like the other OPI's I picked up (Strawberry Margarita, Ate Berries In The Canaries and Koala Bear-y) a solid 2 coater, with the possibility of getting away with only one coat!!!!

I never really though of myself as a pink-loving girl, but I must say, when it come's to OPI's pinks, I find them irrisistable :)

So without further ado, here it is: POMPEII PURPLE

As you can clearly see from the camera flash, the beautiful purple flecks throughout the polish and the gorgeous shimmer it produces!

Below I tried BYS Black Satin to stamp with Bundle Monster plates- I'm not sure I like the look?! Maybe white would have been better? This polish is great to stamp with though!

Then I tried stamping OPI's Strawberry Margarita over top - a good polish to stamp with, but not over Pompeii Purple, you can't really see the stamp at all!

And finally I tried OPI's Last Friday Night over the top and love the look! It reminds me of fairy bread! :)

So in love with OPI polishes (especially pink)- i'm thinking I definitely need to save some more money and stock up on more colours. Do you guys have any suggestions on what polishes I should get? Would love some tips on awesome colours!!!!
